Dolores Lynn Coward, 84, went home to be with the LORD early Thursday morning, August 18, 2022 at home surrounded by family. She was born October 3, 1937 in Savannah, GA. 

She was a homemaker, devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, and a devout Christian. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and in her younger years she was actively involved in many church activities including teaching Sunday School. 
She was also very active in helping family and friends, generous with many charities, played a key role in raising her grandchildren (often lovingly referred to as her daughters), in her earlier years was an avid piano player and had a beautiful singing voice, and even wrote her own songs and poems. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Geraldine Lynn; brother Bill Lynn; husband of 60 years Walter C. Coward, Jr., and her beloved sons Walter Coward III and Edward Coward. She is survived by her daughters-in-law Loren Coward and Rebecca Coward; grandchildren Amanda & Andy Bryan, Justin Cole, Melanie & Joseph Riffle, Patrick Cole and Kelly Rivers, and Marie Coward; great-grandchildren Aiden Riffle, Max Agnew, and Katharine Cole; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

The family will receive friends from 3:00pm – 5:00pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral will be held at 10:00am on Friday, August 22 at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Greenwich Cemetery. The family suggests any remembrances be made in her memory to Grace United Methodist Church.
